Children in Need 2010 Lanturn Launch

Looking for something to do for Children in Need 2010? How about a magical Lanturn Launch at Stockeld Park, home of The Christmas Adventure. Come along and launch a Chinese Lanturn for this good cause.

Last year, for the second year running, Stockeld Park hosted the Great Nordic Ski-athon on Friday 20th November 2009, Children in Need night. Every penny raised went towards making a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in the UK.

Last Year's Challenge
The challenge was to complete as many full laps of the 1.2km ski track as each person could. Skiers were able to set off anytime between 4.30pm and 8pm. Whether they completed only one lap or managed to do many more, their registration fee went to charity and it was the taking part that counted! Schools and teams were welcomed to do their bit earlier in the day and over £300 was raised. Our visitors rose to a challenge that was a little bit different, here in Yorkshire and enjoyed themselves by doing it - well done everyone.
